On our agenda for today were waterfalls and swimming opportunities.
Our first stop in Litchfield National Park today was Greenant Creek. Here there was a short trail to the Tjaetsba Falls. Then we continued to Wangi Falls, practically one of the tourist attractions in the park. Accordingly, it was quite crowded. Many bathers were frolicking in the waterhole below the waterfall.
We first walked to the viewing platform and then continued along the trail that led to the upper end of the waterfall. This trail first led through dense rainforest, where numerous flying foxes were hanging in the trees and making noise.Among the trees were the webs of the Golden Orb-Weaver Spider.A little further, the vegetation changed to dry palm forest.Above the inflow of the waterfall, several St.Andrews Cross Spiders had built communal webs.Back down again, we first had lunch and used one of the many freely available gas grills at a picnic area to toast our bread.
