Warendorf

From Belgium, we made a 1-day stop in Wesel, at the largest camping site in Germany on the Grav peninsula on the Rhine. We were very curious about what it would be like there. It was... well... interesting! We stayed in the short-term pitch, side by side with other campers, but luckily we didn't have any direct neighbors. Otherwise, it didn't really feel like camping, more like a small garden community. There is even a local Edeka store there. So, everything was a bit crazy, with Schalke and Dortmund flags everywhere. It was okay for one night, but we definitely wouldn't have stayed there longer.

The next morning, we headed directly to Warendorf to visit the Bartels family. The days there were absolutely beautiful and very relaxing.

During the day, we went for walks, entertained the kids, or just hung out. Mads and Romy played with Per and showed him their toys. He got to ride their tricycle and couldn't get enough of their amazing children's play wall. When all the kids were taken care of and asleep in bed in the evening, the adults made themselves comfortable in the living room and spent the last hours of the day with wonderful conversations. On the last day, Per achieved another milestone. He independently climbed the stairs and explored the first floor. From that point on, he went up and down the stairs over and over again.
