End of the World

After having a not so nice day in Brest, yesterday, 19.7, we set off for a real highlight in Brittany (not only according to Cindy but also according to the travel guide 🤪). We drove 80 km along the coast to the west with the aim of reaching "Pointe du Raz". Pointe du Raz is the westernmost point of France, according to the Bretons, it is the end of the world. It was really beautiful to drive, mostly along country roads by the coast, passing through many small villages. We saw the best side of Brittany. After a 1.5-hour drive, we finally reached our destination and the sun finally came out! We walked along the circular path for about 1.7 km, enjoying the beautiful nature and amazing views! We took beautiful photos and just let it all sink in.

Cindy and Steffi also raided the souvenir shop and bought some things 😃

After a little refreshment for everyone, we set off to our parking space about 160 km away!

Here too, we drove through many small villages for the first 50 km. What I found so amazing was that hydrangeas are probably everywhere here, with a spacing of about 2x2m, and the lavender has grown really tall, we would love to have them in our garden (but we only have them in miniature format).

Elisa and I sat in the front and I allowed Elisa to play her music on the radio in order to hear what the youth is listening to. It actually worked, even Elton John was playing.

At some point, I heard voices behind us, Amelie is feeling a little sick...okay, let's stop at the next opportunity. So we did...

Cindy said, uh, I think my phone fell into the slot in the wall here. Okay, then we unpacked half of the bench, but didn't see the phone. So we dismantled even more, got a screwdriver, and practically took apart the whole bench, and actually found the phone wedged behind something else. There was more than chaos inside the camper van, no one could move anymore. But after about 30 minutes, the whole spectacle was over, and since we were at a rest stop, we all treated ourselves to an ice cream to cool down and continued the journey!

In the late afternoon, we arrived at our accommodation for the night! We couldn't make a reservation because it's never full here! Honestly, it feels like there are 3000 parking spaces here, and we were almost overwhelmed with all the options of "park wherever you want"! Here? No, right? Then there? No, no power connection...here is good, close to the washing facilities! That went on for about 15 minutes 🤣

The girls quickly and without fighting set up the tent (it's possible) and then changed into their bathing suits and went into the sea.

We are here on a peninsula surrounded by water, and our next stop is Nantes, about 120 km away.

Small update regarding the extension cord: It's really annoying because we can't roll it up anymore and I have to constantly carry around the broken thing plus about 30 meters of cable, even though sometimes we only need 10 meters! So today we will go to the hardware store (yay, finally back to the hardware store) and buy a new one, that's at least the plan!

We can't complain about the heat either! During the day, it's around 25 degrees and mostly sunny! At night, it's sooo cold, Steffi almost freezes every night and would like to turn on the heating, while Cindy is mostly warm and sleeps without a blanket. A great combination, I would say! The air conditioning has not been used yet, but as soon as we are in Spain, it will definitely be used, and Steffi will probably constantly say "I'm suffocating, it's soooo hot!"
