After arriving in Warsaw on Friday, I had already bought a train ticket to Vilnius. One train a day, journey time around 9 hours 45 minutes and departure at 7:45 a.m. That set the framework for my stay in Warsaw and I used Saturday to get a little insight into the city. I now know where I arrived here on Nowy Świat Street. From Friday to Sunday evening, the street is closed to traffic, even the buses are diverted. When I leave the apartment in the afternoon/evening, I am standing directly on a lively street mile with a variety of restaurants, bars and cafés. Conversely, this means that I was able to enjoy my grilled ham and cheese croissant in peace and quiet in the morning 🤤 Then it was time for a city tour. With my limited time, I took the tram in the direction of the Vistula. Strolling through the grounds of the University of Warsaw, I then walked parts of the so-called Royal Route, including along the Presidential Palace. The path leads into the historic old town of the capital, with small alleys and great house facades. A real tourist hotspot. Of course, I didn't want to miss the walk to the banks of the Vistula. On my way back, I enjoyed the cheesecake from the Cheesecake Corner and discovered Laweczki Park. A nice place to relax away from the hustle and bustle and take a look at the book that I brought with me for the trip. After all these impressions, I am now preparing for the longest train ride of my life 😊 Warsaw is definitely worth another visit ✌️
