Heading North

Our journey takes us to the north. So we drive through almost the whole of Germany. For me, it was strange at first. If I'm honest, it didn't fit me at all in the beginning. I was used to getting off the plane and immediately being in a different world or driving a few kilometers south and immediately being in another country. And here? We were still in Germany for days, German soil, German traffic signs, and everyone speaks German, of course. You have to pay for a toilet and fresh water, a smile from the cashier is missing, and wild camping? - Better not!

We did it anyway :)

But what am I talking nonsense about? It was different, but still beautiful, of course. It was nice to walk in the Lüneburg Heath, to stomp in the Wadden Sea, to have a beer in the harbor city of Hamburg at sunset, or to sit in a beach chair on the North Sea. Everything was beautiful!

By now, we have even left Denmark behind. But we didn't miss out on Copenhagen. We rented bikes and explored the city. Nice weather, beautiful city, good mood, so it was great.

After that, we crossed the second big bridge to Sweden. By the way, you have to pay quite a bit to cross those bridges. Well, then we'll save money somewhere else. For example, there will be a week of just pasta with sauce.

The bridges reminded me a bit of the Golden Gate in San Francisco. But only a bit. I think no bridge can compare to the Golden Gate.

Today, we spend the first night in a beautiful spot in Sweden. It's just us, a beautiful lake, a picnic bench, and lots of wonderful nature. By the way, wild camping is officially allowed here in Sweden, which is a balm for our souls.

We enjoy our spot with a round of stand-up paddleboarding, a ukulele practice session, and a campfire with a view of the lake. Maybe we'll stay for 2 nights.

Do you remember those spots where everything is just right? Yeah, we found the first one of those in Sweden.

Cheers
