Today we continued our journey to Villa La Angostura.
But first, we wanted to have breakfast. So we went to our favorite gas station to drink a freshly brewed coffee from an Italian coffee machine. When we arrived there, we were overwhelmed by all the options they had. In the end, we ordered four coffees with croissants. Both the coffee and the croissants were excellent! However, the kids didn't want coffee, so they just got a hot milk with a drop of coffee. That one drop of coffee had to be added so that the saleswoman could say it was a cafe au lait and not just milk.
On the way, we passed by Esquel once again, where we had stayed overnight on the way there. First, we went to our bakery to buy our beloved cheese balls and sandwiches. As often happens when we enter a store, it is initially empty. When we leave the store, it is full of waiting customers. That's because we always need to know everything in detail and get extensive advice.
On the way to our destination, we drove the same route we had driven before. The only new thing was that there were forest fires along the way. From afar, we could smell the burnt wood and shortly after, we could see the flames coming out of the forests. In Bolcon, a town we had to pass through, there was also no power that day.
In the afternoon, we finally arrived in Villa La Angostura. First, we went to our favorite laundry store. They greeted us warmly and gladly accepted our laundry again.
After that, we headed straight to our favorite ice cream shop and our favorite creperie. We were immediately recognized there and warmly welcomed. I think the people there were glad that we no longer needed the extensive advice we needed before. We ordered right away.
The ice cream shop offers about 100 flavors of ice cream. We tried them all!
After that, we went to our accommodation. This was the first accommodation that Flora booked for us over the phone. Since she has by far the best Spanish accent among all of us, our goal was for her to take care of the booking so that we could possibly get Argentine prices. This time it worked wonderfully. She even negotiated the price down a bit.
The owner was amazed when he personally met us and could be convinced of the quality of our Spanish.
Still accompanied by rain, we didn't feel like doing anything else that day and stayed cozy in our cabin.
