Serengeti shall never die

As our time in Tanzania is slowly coming to an end, we treated ourselves to a safari last week. Together with Patrick, our guide from the first safari, and Mgosi (the cook), we wanted to enjoy the beauty of Africa once again. We started in Tarangire with its large herds of elephants and the baobabs with leaves that fascinated us. In the evening we drove to a camp in Mto Wa Mbu (for insiders: Rita Richter's daughter and Peter and his harem). The next day took us to the Serengeti and we couldn't stop being amazed. This landscape in lush green and then the great animal migration with millions of wildebeest and zebras was simply incredible. Last but not least, we were able to experience the eighth wonder of the world (Ngorongoro Crater) in the most beautiful colors. What a week!

Before we went on safari, the project in Kagera was cancelled due to the lack of a car. So we enjoyed our time in Usa with our Tanzanian friends. We went hiking in the area, went on a bee day and looked for cranes.

Since our return to Usa River we have been trying to build a fence around a crane's nest to protect it from a monitor lizard. This is proving to be a bit difficult as there is either no material or the Africans only want to work 2 hours a day. We are here for another 8 days, so maybe we will still get it done. Hakuna matata.

We will write one more time to get to 27 posts. Then our incredible six months will "already" be over. At the suggestion of a single lady, we are trying to mentally prepare ourselves for our return. But honestly: somehow we are not even thinking about Germany - that's what we have learned here: we live in the now!
