Hello people,
today was a really beautiful day!
We had a proper hiking day planned for a long time.
I started the day with a camping shower, which worked really well and is a cool alternative when you don't have the opportunity to shower.
Then I had a proper breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, and coffee, and we headed to the first hiking trail.
Our goal was the 'Blue Springs', a river source that is considered to be one of the purest rivers in the world. It was an incredible path along this crystal clear turquoise river.
The water in the river was actually drinking water, which was another highlight!
In total, we hiked here for 2 hours and took some great photos of this natural spectacle.
Back at the car, we drove on to the 'Wairere Falls', the highest waterfall in the North Island of New Zealand.
Here too, we hiked for a total of 3 hours! The trail was very natural, but that made it even more fun to hike up the approximately 250m high mountain and then to look down from the top at the waterfall.
Another great experience!
All in all, I have to say that I am very happy that we have our own daily routine again and can do whatever we want and feel like doing.
It's great to explore the breathtaking scenery of this paradise and be amazed every day!
Tomorrow we're going to Hobbiton. Here we both fulfill an absolute dream as 'Lord of the Rings' and 'The Hobbit' fans and take a closer look at the home of the hobbits.
I'm extremely excited!
Greetings from New Zealand, Matamata!
Your Tim!
