Über den Hohen Atlas

Today the journey took us out of bustling Marrakesh, over the High Atlas mountains and to Quarzazate. Along the way, we saw the snow-covered mountains and the often very barren landscape. Our driver Zaid safely took us over the High Atlas and introduced us to many old buildings. These include the Kasbah of the Pasha of Marrakech and the Kasbah de Ait Ben Haddou. Now we are staying in a quiet Riad with a magnificent garden (with many herbs, chilies, date palms with ripe dates, and olive trees) near Quarzazate and recovering from the many impressions on the beautiful rooftop terrace with a cup of tea.
