Since Tallinn was not particularly favorable to us in terms of weather (and law enforcement officers), we decided to continue our journey after 2 days... As we learned from various recommendations and travel guides, a must-do in Estonia is Lahemaa National Park. It is located about 50-70 km east of Tallinn, also on the Baltic Sea coast. In addition to great beach and forest hikes, you can admire cute little fishing villages and simply enjoy nature, which was a real treat after the days in Tallinn and Helsinki. Our campground in Loksa was run by a family. We were welcomed by the super friendly, very young daughter, who was maybe 17-19 years old and told us that she had to do most of the hikes in the national park with her school class. The reception was staffed during the day by the mother and sometimes in the evenings by the grandmother, and the grandfather served as the night watchman... We really felt very comfortable. Of course, the sauna with a wood-burning stove for 2 euros in the evening also helped a lot.
