The tour of the opera house began at 10:30 a.m. During the one-hour tour, we not only got an insight into the building, but also into its history.
The opera house has two large halls - a concert hall and one for operas. There are also smaller venues and, depending on the piece, performances are also held in other, more unusual locations, such as on the outside stairs or in the ladies' restroom.
Our next destination was the Pylon Lookout at the Harbour Bridge. From up there we had a great view of the city and the bridge. In the attached museum there was also some information about the construction of the bridge over 90 years ago. After a coffee break at the hostel, we set off again through the city center - to the old Customs House, the Sydney Hospital, St. Mary's Cathedral and the Queen Victoria Building. On the way, we also passed the Parliament of New South Wales, which you could just walk into.
We had dinner in the hostel. We were able to cook our own food and pasta in the large communal kitchen. Afterwards we went out again to see the opera and the Harbour Bridge with lights. However, today, contrary to previous announcements, there was only the normal lighting. There is actually a light installation in the evening between 6 and 7:30 p.m. But it looked good anyway. We ended the evening with a beer on the hostel's roof terrace with a view of the illuminated opera house. For statistics:
