Good bye Koh Samui... Hello Bangkok

So... Now this vacation is coming to an end! Yesterday I got up very early, had breakfast, jumped into the sea one more time (under beautiful weather), and took a final walk on the beach.... Then the taxi picked me up.... I was actually quite sad. The airport in Koh Samui is truly idyllic. My flight to Bangkok was very smooth, and I had a window seat (yes... I can even look out now and enjoy flying). My current hotel is not far from the airport, so I had a very cheap taxi ride. I am now in a suburb of Bangkok (Lat Krabang). The hotel is huge, but I think there is only one other person staying here besides me. It's like a ghost hotel. The restaurant and the entire hotel are empty. This morning, I had breakfast here as the only guest. But I felt like they weren't prepared for that at all. It's really strange here. The room is on the 6th floor and it's okay. It's clean and has the essentials. I was also able to arrange for a late check-out at 6pm, as my flight today is not until 11pm.

Last night, I took a walk around here. If you leave the very smelly and not-so-nice main street, you can find some beautiful places and there are small markets everywhere. So last night, I found a restaurant that was right next to a small canal and had delicious green curry there. There are really no tourists here, and I feel like an exotic here, but everyone is friendly and communication works with hand gestures and feet... Yesterday, I also discovered a temple that I will visit again...

I also managed to do an online check-in at the reception, as I prefer to have my boarding pass printed out...

Now I'm sitting on the bed and I'm going to admire the temple soon (photos will be added later). Somehow I will still make the most of the last day. I would love to go on the next trip right away, but I guess I need to earn some money first.

Unfortunately, I had to cut short the excursion (see last photos... I just got back in time...)
