2nd day - Alone in the middle of nowhere

Update on Day 1: At 3 o'clock in the morning German time, I finally arrived at my host family's house. At first, it consisted of two students. One of them welcomed me, but only gave me the most necessary information and only when I asked. But since I just wanted to jump in the shower and then go straight to bed, I wasn't really unhappy that he didn't want to have a longer conversation with me. The next morning, thanks to my reliable internal clock, I woke up at 7 o'clock on time, which would never happen to Brazilians, as I had to realize.
After 4 hours of waiting, I decided to wake one of them up so that I wouldn't spend the whole day in the non air-conditioned apartment, mind you, with hardly any daylight and only ice-cold water. However, the host was not amused by my attempt to wake him up and was anything but willing to give me some information about where to find food or where a bus departs. Not exactly hospitable. And when he also informed me that no one can let me into the apartment when I come back and that I can't even get a key, I was not amused at all. Shortly afterwards, I noticed that no one was in the house anymore. I was not only all alone in a frightening area that I couldn't assess, but also locked in by my host. He obviously forgot that I was there and left the apartment with the only key without saying a word. Thank goodness I had internet access within the house to contact Maike (another German volunteer). Her family immediately came to help and took me home after I found a neighbor after a long search who had a suitable key for the locked gate. I just grabbed my things and wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. I spent today with Maike's family, which in the end turned out well - with a trip to the beach, pizza and Caipirinha - and of course with Acai. I can stay here for now until I find another host family. Lesson learned of the day: You can feel completely alone on a single day and make new friendships.
