The first day we simply walked on the beach. We stayed in a simple but cozy wooden hut.
Also, we were able to see several whales here ๐ This is what I was most excited about on this trip.
As beautiful as the day started, it unfortunately turned into our personal catastrophe.
I don't even know where to start ๐. The boat tour ended around twelve and we started driving. It was supposed to be our longest distance of the day. We had planned for about 200km in 4 hours.
We quickly left the paved road, but we're already used to that. Then it started, we had to cross small rivers... after some consideration, we dared to do it. Then we came across a lake ๐ we couldn't see its depth, and no car was coming towards us. Of course, it started raining as well.
Well, we had to go all the way back and try a different road... which led us nowhere... back again. Then the navigation system gave me only one possible way to go so we tried that... it was the climax of all the roads we had encountered so far... no one else was coming towards us, it was pouring rain... we were talking about muddy roads... I started walking through the rivers to see how deep they were. No one would do this with their car at home, but we simply had no choice anymore.
Then it happened, we got completely stuck. Basti had to push from outside, and I was at the wheel... he slipped in the mud by the way ๐ after a good half hour, he got me out ๐ช๐ฝ
The rivers got deeper and proper currents formed.
Then we only had the choice to take a huge detour, through the capital city.
That meant doubling the distance but by now we had already lost 3 hours. We thought, we definitely won't drive through the city center, but on a kind of "highway" next to it. Wrong assumption. You can't imagine what was going on ๐ even driving in Paris was more pleasant ๐ฉ It was dark and we were in the middle of rush hour in the capital city.
In the end, we arrived at the accommodation around half past eight. 9 hours for 200km. We had not eaten anything except breakfast. We arrived at the accommodation completely exhausted and were faced with closed gates.
That was the next shocking moment, but then the owners drove up behind us and greeted us.
