All day sun, a little cloudier in the evening
In the late morning, we ride our bikes to the northern village of Mefjordvær, where some hiking trails begin. We choose a coastal trail, which means we have to climb over rocks and stones again. The nearby shore on our side provides us with the constant sound of waves, and the views of the opposite rocky shore change with almost every step.
After about 1 hour of climbing, we descend onto large rocks by the water and have lunch there in the sunshine.
As the sun sets behind the mountain and it gets cooler in the shade, we start heading back.
We are now alone in the big house, our hosts are at their weekend cabin until the evening. Here in this place, as often in Norway, houses are not locked, there is hardly any crime.
In the evening, Gerd makes pizza and we spontaneously decide to invite Ingrid and Harald. They gladly accept, provide the red wine and dessert, and it turns into a very pleasant evening with good food, good wine, and extensive conversations. It is cloudy at night, so no northern lights can be seen, and we take the opportunity to go to bed before 22:00.
