28. Zugdidi (Georgia)

After saying goodbye to Michi and dropping him off in Munich, we make our way to Zugdidi to visit Katha's former colleague Alena again! We stay at her colleague's guesthouse, which is situated in a beautiful green oasis.

In Zugdidi, Princess Dadiani built a palace with a court church and botanical garden between 1860 and 1890.

We also visit the traditional market in Zugdidi

and spend 2 great days with Alena!

She also shows us the social organization 'Atinati', where she works and which includes a school, kindergarten, peace education workshops, and a radio station, among other things. At the same time, international aid organizations support the institution in integrating refugees from, for example, South Ossetia.

Finally, we hope that despite customs regulations, we will be able to give our loyal car to the 'Atinati' organization and Alena in a few weeks! Since the borders to neighboring countries are unfortunately still closed, we will have to continue our journey by plane soon!
