Day 6: Exploring Sapa

After a relatively restful bus ride, we arrived in Sapa at 4:00 AM. We were able to stay in our "box" for another two hours and sleep. Then we started a small hike to our accommodation, the "Stunning View Hotel", which is located a bit outside of town. When we arrived, we were informed that we couldn't check into our room until 10:00 AM, so we decided to stretch our legs and explore the surroundings. During the walk, we made a stop at a small shop where we replenished ourselves with pancakes and a cup of tea. Once we got back to the accommodation, we were finally able to check into our room and recover from the long journey. In the afternoon, we made our way to the small village of "Cat Cat", which attempts to showcase the life of the locals, but you can already tell that everything is largely done for tourist purposes. Nonetheless, it was very worth seeing and we were able to capture beautiful landscape shots. We walked past traditional houses of the Hmong families, through the many rice terraces and flower fields, all the way to a waterfall in the middle of the village. After the exhausting uphill walk back, we decided to have dinner near our hotel.
