Tag 323 - Dive day by boat @ Koh Haa

Hello everyone

Today our alarm clock rang at 6 o'clock because we had booked a diving trip ☺️

Even though we were really excited, we snoozed the alarm 4-5 times and ended up getting stressed as usual 😁

Actually, we managed to stand at the hotel entrance at 7:25 am as agreed - the transportation to the harbor arrived at the same time.

We were greeted friendly, boarded the vehicle and off we went. The drive to the harbor took at most ten minutes ☺️

Once we arrived there, everything went smoothly and relatively quickly.

We were really impressed by the boat, we didn't expect that! Two floors, very neat, with two toilets and even food & drinks were provided!

We waited for about ten minutes for other guests and staff, then the boat departed towards "Koh Haa", our diving spot for today.

We were really lucky with our guide Jonas too! We were his only guests (usually there are 4-6 other divers in the group on such trips), he was super friendly and even spoke German, which made communication much easier :).

The journey to the dive site took about two hours, which passed extremely quickly though.

In the meantime, we had breakfast and coffee, everyone chatted with each other and there was also a detailed briefing about the dive site.

Something funny we learned during the briefing:

Clownfish (Nemo) can change their gender. That means, as soon as the female dies or swims away, the male changes its hormone absorption and transforms into a female! Unbelievable, isn't it? :)

Once we arrived at the destination, everything was well organized and we quickly got equipped and into the water.

The first dive lasted 51 minutes and we saw some great things: we dived into a cave, saw some lionfish, scorpionfish, "puffer fish" (sorry, I can't remember the German word right now :)), moray eels and many other colorful fish.

You won't believe it, but Kevin and I were already freezing after the first dive, even though the water had a temperature of 30 degrees!

There was a short break, food was provided again, and about 30-45 minutes later we dived for the second time.

At the beginning of the dive, I thought I couldn't endure the cold for ten minutes, but we held on until the end - 52 minutes :).

The dive was again very beautiful, calm and colorful :).

This time it was a dive along a steep wall and it looked fantastic how the fish swam up and down the wall covered in coral.

Back on the boat, Jonas asked us if we wanted to do a third dive. Honestly, we were already too cold at that point and the dive site wasn't that exceptional :).

If it was the Manta season or something like that, we would have gone again, but instead we preferred to enjoy the warm sun on the deck :).

45 minutes later, everyone was back on the boat and we started our two-hour journey back :).

On the way back, we chatted again with various other guests and our guide, and we exchanged recommendations that will be helpful for the rest of our journey :).

There was also a photographer on the boat, from whom you could buy pictures of the dives. Of course, I had to have them *blush*

But they are really good, my underwater photos look like bad drawings next to them ☺️

We reached the hotel at 5:00 pm and we were really exhausted, even though we actually didn't do anything 😁

First of all, we sat comfortably on the terrace and gathered some energy again ☺️.

In the meantime, we quickly turned our entire travel plan upside down and made new plans.

Initially, we didn't want to rent a scooter because it would force us to come back to Krabi. But now we're doing exactly that because it's our favorite way to travel ☺️

So the current plan is that tomorrow we will take the ferry to Ao Nang and rent two scooters there until the end of the year.

At 7:00 pm, we pulled ourselves together and went in search of a cute restaurant.

On the way, we also booked the ferry for tomorrow, which only leaves at 1:30 pm. So, since we have plenty of time tomorrow, we decided to go to the restaurant right on the beach with the delicious Caipirinhas 😁
