After not making it to Cornwall in 2021, the big day finally arrived today: our flight to Newquay!
Yesterday we took the €9 ticket to Düsseldorf to the airport. The journey was delayed, so the night was unfortunately very short because the alarm clock mercilessly woke us up from sleep.
So at just after 8 a.m. local time, we were at Newquay Airport, which welcomed us with glorious weather. The perfect time for an English breakfast. For that we went to the Merrymoor Inn in Mawgan Porth, which we got to know and love on our last trip... 😍
In a nearby shop, we were able to store our suitcases and went 'to warm up' to the wonderful Bedruthan Steps. Soooo beautiful!
Back in Mawgan Porth, we were informed that the bus we wanted to take was canceled... So we had to hitchhike, because we had to get somewhere. A very nice man in a very small car took us and our luggage. And even all the way to Truro, instead of just Newquay! Thanks again at this point... 🤗
From Truro, we took a train to St Ives via St Erth. It was nice that we walked along the railway line from St Erth in our last stage. So the arrival in St Ives was especially beautiful. 😎😍 By the way, the G7 summit took place exactly one year ago in Carbis Bay.
After checking in at the hostel, we had a lovely evening in St Ives.
