Cycle path Munich-Venice Rottach-Egern - Maurach

The journey from Lake Tegernsee to Lake Achensee is a highlight of the tour. For the first time, the mountains become rugged and the ascents and descents through the forest at Achenpass are steep and rocky. The border with Austria, where hundreds of small streams cross the route, is unspectacular but a great pleasure for us. The cycle path along the lakeshore of Lake Achensee runs many meters below the 'new' (1961) road on the old route. The color of this lake is unique: emerald green.
