In the morning doing laundry and going to the library, at noon we drive to Arrowtown to meet Beate, a school friend of Imola from Mediascher Schulzeiten. The road leads over 2 passes, very beautiful landscapes. Arrival around 5 p.m. in Arrowtown, a former gold mining town. The center is still in the old style (like in the wild west), very well-kept, great houses. A beer garden, a restaurant with Irish live music while strolling. At 6 p.m. we go to Beate's place. Grilling in the garden. JP takes care of the fire and the meat. It will be a very nice evening with both of them. He is 52 years old and is undergoing training as a carpenter, he is basically an apprentice. In New Zealand, age does not matter if you want to do an apprenticeship. His apprenticeship will last for 4 years. Beate works as an accountant for a film production company.
