The next morning is sunny and I walk happily to the nearest Boulangerie and buy fresh croissants and baguettes... I love it!
We have breakfast and take it easy, before we head towards Brittany. The weather remains unsettled during the drive and we hope it stays dry. Mont-Saint-Michel is far out in the muddy tide, there is no water in sight for meters. We drive to Saint-Brieuc on the highway and then take the coastal road. Our destination is the Pink Granite Coast... although with this weather, there's hardly anything rosy... more like pink-gray...! We drive through beautiful Breton towns and are not further impressed by the weather, while we search for a place to stay. The places here are almost all closed, but we still find a spot in Landrellec, right next to potatoes...!
In the early evening, we take a walk and the surf is strong. The waves crash high against the rocky coast, but that doesn't stop us from having a beer in a small bay and chasing the dog along the beach. In the evening, once again baguette, cheese, and the finest salami...what more do you need!
The wind is strong again during the night and the bus rocks us to sleep... if only it wasn't so loud...!
The next morning...rain...Great! We quickly pack everything together and hit the road around 10 am. First stop: Boulangerie...coffee, croissants (although they were already sold out...darn...), baguette, and a delicious quiche for later. After a skillful bus breakfast, we head to the next destination: Oceanopolis in Brest. It's raining, it's Sunday, what do you do...museum...even French museums deserve a chance! Oceanopolis offers the full range of the underwater world. It's well-visited, but bearable, no one is playing tag or anything like that, Hurtigruten ships are also not to be seen, even though we're right at the port, perfect! If you're on vacation nearby and it's raining or it's Sunday, you should stop by, very interesting. Jörni and I also have a new friend, the ray, what a friendly little guy, he enjoys taking pictures with silly tourists! Afterwards, we spend a lot of money in the museum shop... but they also have great stuff... and then continue on to Crozon.
