Trip to Putrajaya

Cyhoeddwyd: 11.08.2019

After successfully completing my second term paper (now there's only one left!!), I went to Putrajaya as a reward (yes, it was planned for a while, but still a reward :P). According to Wikipedia, it is a planned city 25 km south of KL. Since I had plenty of time, I decided to take the bus. Not my best idea. First, it wasn't displayed on the board, which made me really nervous. But another nice bus driver said I was in the right place. So I waited. A total of 50 minutes. Okay, I only paid about one euro for the trip, but it was still a bit annoying. Finally, when I arrived, Lara was already waiting for me and we took a ride to the mosque. It looks beautiful from the outside, but I don't know what it looks like from the inside yet, as it was closed to visitors due to a Muslim holiday. So we just wandered around a bit. First, we had something to eat (the heat messes up my appetite and eating habits) and I had my first coconut. Freshly opened for me. Super delicious! Then we walked along the man-made lake, past Seri Perdana (the Prime Minister's residence), and into the Botanical Garden. It is really beautiful here, mainly because there is so much growth. And the number of animals I have seen here has increased by probably 20 bird species or so ^^ Most importantly, it was nice to have a bit of peace and quiet, as it is usually very crowded and noisy here. The only problem today was that the sun was shining really brightly for the first time. Sounds nice, but it leads to extreme water loss. It was so hot. I love the sun, but it's really nicer when it's cloudy here! But other than that, it was a really nice afternoon! On the way back, I wanted to give the bus another chance, and 30 minutes of waiting wasn't that bad. I got something to drink and an ice cream. A weird ice cream. It had jelly around the popsicle. And I'm still not completely sure if I liked it. But it was definitely interesting. So the time passed really quickly and then the bus actually came. And the bus driver got off. And the waiting time jumped to 74 minutes. And I took the KLIA Transit home! Definitely more expensive, but at least I knew when and how to get home. And here I am now, thinking about what reward I could give myself for tomorrow. Maybe I'll take a look at the jungle. We'll see ;)
