Finally, we went to the desert.

Today was the day we were most excited about. Because today our long-awaited desert tour was finally on the program. We booked it through 'www.get-your-gide.com' for 85€. A driver was supposed to pick us up from the hotel around 4pm. So there was still enough time to explore more of Dubai. After finishing breakfast at 10am, we decided to go to a smaller mall and explore the surrounding area again. We chose the Mercato Mall because it was only a 10-minute drive from our hotel. Today we wanted to try the app 'Uber' for the first time. It is a kind of "private" taxi company where anyone with a driver's license can ride as a taxi driver. Everything is done through an app. On this app, you can see where an Uber is currently available, how expensive the route is, and how long it takes. Before starting the trip, you receive the driver's rating, as well as the model and license plate of the car, so nothing can go wrong. Also, it's super convenient because you pay through the app, where your credit card is stored. So order Uber, get in, and get out. That's all, so super simple and convenient.

After wandering around the mall and the area, we arrived back at the hotel around 12pm. We spent another hour lying by the pool, swimming, and then went out for something delicious to eat.

Now it was already 4pm and our driver picked us up. Together with two English people, we drove for about an hour to the desert. The quad tour was waiting for us first. We drove through the desert together with 10 other quads, a quad guide, and a jeep for emergencies for half an hour, it was so much fun. After the half-hour ride up and down, we took a short break. We used this break to take pictures and try sandboarding. Being in the middle of the desert, in the middle of nowhere, was indescribable, even the heat was ignored in that moment. After the break, we returned to our driver. He then took us to a desert camp where we could ride camels, smoke a shisha, have a henna painting, try on traditional clothing, hold a falcon on our arm, and watch a super delicious Arabian barbecue belly dance.

The time in this camp was wonderful, just like the whole trip. This tour was more than worth it and we fell asleep with lots of new impressions. So good night and tomorrow we're off to Bali.
