On Friday, 01.12, we spent a day driving along the Great Ocean Road with a rental car. Since our accommodation in Melbourne was already paid for, we did not want to stay overnight along the route.
We drove the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to the 12 Apostles and then took the return trip via the A1 Freeway inland. Unfortunately, the weather was very changeable and it kept raining, so we only took a few breaks. Among other things, we made a stop in Kennett River. Here, there were various parrots, cockatoos, etc. that could be photographed or fed directly by tourists at the parking lot. A little further behind the campsite, we spotted our first koalas in the trees. In the 12 Apostles National Park, we also encountered the first wallabies at our feet. The outing would definitely have been more worthwhile with better weather conditions, but unfortunately, you cannot pre-order the weather 😊
Geelong:
We made a stop in Geelong for dinner and to stretch our legs. We both really liked the small town and would recommend it for a day trip. There are many bars, clubs, and restaurants. Geelong is about 1-1.5 hours away from Melbourne by car.
On Sunday, we will continue our journey to Brisbane with the campervan.
