Today we have a longer drive ahead of us to Baddeck on Cape Breton Island. On the beautiful Marinedrive we take plenty of time for photo stops.
At the intermediate destination in Sherbrooke Village we have a surprise waiting for us: a Canadian woman gives us her admission tickets she won on the radio - just great! The village is one of countless living museums in Canada. Here you can experience life as the first settlers lived. The entire village has been preserved and the residents in historical clothing show daily craftsmanship and way of life in the 19th century.
We continue driving through amazing landscapes, cross the "Strait of Canso" and reach our chalet in the evening, beautifully located on a clearing high above Baddeck. Hunters Mountain Chalets are surrounded by forest at the entrance to the Cabot Trail. The 12 perfectly furnished cozy holiday apartments have terraces with barbecue facilities.
