Today's route:
Lac de Roue (1850 m) - Château Queyras (1380 m) - Fontaine Rouge (2125 m) - Col Fromage (2301 m) - Ceillac (1645 m)
A wonderful, extremely peaceful place to spend the night at Lac de Roue, starting from 8 p.m. We slept better than the night before in the hotel room... We usually stay at the overnight location until the sun dries the tent (morning dew; condensation).
We then hike steeply down to Château-Queyras, where we stop at 'La Pause' for coffee and croissants with a homesick Sicilian who speaks little French. Then, initially very steep, we head up towards Col Fromage, which is a rather strenuous climb. A longer break at Fontaine Rouge to wash clothes and bodies.
Since meeting the pizza maker from Sicily, we occasionally see the Swiss couple from Spiez again, and from Col de Fromage we walk down together to Ceillac, go to the campsite together, and later in the evening, we also eat together. We are tired; it was exhausting today.
A fireworks display at 9.30 p.m. and a subsequent village festival with a wedding, which we knew nothing about, kept us awake for a long time.
