I left Revelstoke early in the morning and drove to Glacier National Park - the goal for today was the Balu Pass.
At the parking lot below, I met up with the two Dutch people and we found out that only groups of at least 4 people are allowed to hike - because of grizzly bear activities.
While we were getting ready, someone approached us who also wanted to hike up and was looking for a group for himself and his girlfriend. Perfect, now we were five - 2 Dutch, 2 Slovaks, and 1 German.
The hike was really beautiful, through the forest, the valley, across rivers and rocks. Along the way, we saw marmots and even a porcupine.
And at the very top, we were rewarded with a breathtaking panorama at 2104m.
After the hike, the Dutch people had to say goodbye as they had booked a campsite in Banff. The two Slovaks and I then decided to travel together for a few days as we had planned the same route.
So we drove to one of the many recreation sites where you can camp for free, and found a nice spot right by the river with our vans.
