Unfortunately, this is the last time I will write from Salvador.
Tomorrow, I will start my backpacking journey through the hostels...
I didn't take many pictures in the center of Salvador (Pelourinho) because I wasn't there often. Once on Tuesday evening when musicians and drum groups parade through the streets and Brazilians dance to the music. The second time I felt so sick that I went back home quickly. (But at least I took the famous elevator that connects the upper and lower city and costs about 5 cents per ride.)
The next day, I had to go to the hospital because of my headaches, dizziness, and nausea... Now I can say that I received an infusion :D
But of course, it didn't end there. The next morning, I woke up with the flu and earaches. But the antibiotics from the doctor are helping and I'm getting better :)
The Carnival has officially started here as well. The streets are packed and people are dancing in the middle of the roads. In Salvador, you can celebrate Carnival in two different ways. Either you pay a lot of money for a 'Camarote', huge steel constructions (several stories high) that turn into party castles, or you follow the trucks with musicians and singers behind which the so-called 'Blocos' are formed, and you can only enter with the respective Bloco's T-shirt.
Now I'm going to pack my backpack and then I'm going to enjoy the Carnival a bit...
