Our day started at 7 am with sunshine and seagulls. During our walk, we once again observed a brave Swede taking his morning swim, after all, it's summer. Finn got to swing for a while and then we headed towards Stockholm. As usual, the youngest one slept through the entire drive. Unfortunately, we had to pick up our pre-booked Stockholm passes right in the city center, which meant that Dad had to maneuver the motorhome (7.35 m long) through the urban jungle. Of course, no problem.
Afterwards, we continued to our campsite a little outside the city center. Here, we welcomed many more Germans and felt at home, especially with our neighbors from Dresden (after several bottles of wine in the late evening hours, the dialect sounds twice as beautiful).
After lunch, we took the subway to the city. As Stockholm consists of 30% water, we took a boat tour through the canals. We made a stop at the former hunting island of the king and first visited the Vasa Museum. Here, we could admire a giant ship that had sunk during its maiden voyage in the Stockholm harbor and was recovered and restored after 333 years. Afterwards, we visited the Viking Museum nearby and learned a lot about the legend of Ingrid and Harald.
After some detours, we made our way back to the motorhome, where we finally found peace and went to sleep, despite the quite active and loud neighbors (of course, only the Germans).
