Tag 4/5 Cologne-Düren-Dippie Doo Land (NL)

After a sufficiently cool and peaceful night, we took the train back to the city center of Cologne and had a delicious breakfast on the town hall square, including a melodic carillon. Afterwards, we went to the Odyseum. Here you can experience and explore a lot of exciting and interesting things, but the child should be a bit older to fully utilize and understand everything. Nevertheless, we spent several hours here. Then the train took us to our "new" bicycle trailer, more like an impulse purchase. Unfortunately, without a suitable bicycle coupling, the shops in the area could not change that 😒

In the evening, we drove to Düren and stayed there in a large space of a showman, cheap and completely sufficient.

We welcomed the new day with a birthday serenade for the now 4-year-old Finn, unpacked some gifts and immediately started playing with them. After breakfast and loading and unloading the WoMi with water, we headed towards the Netherlands. After crossing the border a little later, we promptly became one of the fastest with 100 km/h. After a short stop at the certainly largest Decathlon in Europe (pump yes, coupling no), we went to the Dippie Doo amusement park. Here you get a lot for a moderate admission price and Finn was able to use everything on his own, except for a big roller coaster, and he did so very diligently. His highlights were the carousel, bumper cars, and dragon roller coaster. Many thanks at this point to the hardworking and funny park employees, who consist of students and retirees. If we had to pay for the carousel, it would have cost us 50€ for sure.

In the bumper cars, Finn's biggest goal was not to collide with anyone, you can also do that 🤷🏻‍♂️

Shortly before closing time, we said goodbye and went to our overnight parking space, which is free but also quite restless next to the highway, let's see how it goes. We also played a bit of "highway" and now we're trying to sleep.
