La Push and Second Beach

A rabbit seems to have no fear and leisurely eats grass while we brush our teeth. Amelia can approach it to within 1m without it reacting. What an encounter!!

Quickly everything is packed up and we start the return journey. Next stop is Forks to shower at the local swimming pool and fitness center. Of course, not without using the library wifi in Clallam Bay first. Forks is familiar to those of you who are Twilight fans. The story is set there, which can be seen at the museum and the many posters. Interestingly, no scenes from the movie were filmed there...

We miss the Twilight festival (fortunately?) by one day. We have a late lunch in La Push, a place on the coast where we plan to visit the "Second Beach" for the sunset. The beach is very impressive and the sand is nice and fine. We drive a while longer until we share a camping spot with Californians at the southern end of the national park. They have decided to turn their back on California and start a new life somewhere in America. Maybe Arkansas. That's why they sold all their belongings and packed the rest into a small car in which they also sleep. First, a road trip to Maine is on the agenda before they settle somewhere. The man talks endlessly about very exciting political and social topics, our opinions don't always align. At 22:20, we draw a line under his monologue and go to sleep.
