13.10.2019 on the road again, Mayfield

3 nights at Lake Camp. No mobile reception, great hikes, changeable weather, campfire and our van home.

We had wonderful days here and we would come back anytime.

We feel like we have just arrived in New Zealand even though we landed here at the end of July. We only saw Christchurch, then immediately started working and didn't really explore during work. This area is only 20 km from our workplace, hard to believe.

Our campsite only had toilets but no showers, so we had to make do with a 'cat wash'. As we drive through Mayfield on our way to our destination, we contacted Mike's Farmer to see if we could spend a night in the little house and have a shower and washing machine, it was no problem at all :-)

So we are spending another night here in Mayfield and tomorrow we will continue on. Next destination: Lake Tekapo.
