After a hearty breakfast at the beautiful country house, we took the ferry to Santander. To avoid the unattractive route through the Santander metropolitan area and its industrial zone, we decided to take the bus to the rural coastal region of Comillas. From here, we followed our pilgrim guide's recommendation and walked 15km to Hotel Gerra Mayor. Along the way, we experienced the other side of the weather in northern Spain. What started as scattered raindrops slowly turned into a steady rain, which then turned into stormy and very wet weather by the sea. Our attempts to find a restaurant for a delightful evening meal failed miserably due to their non-existence. So, we settled for Vino Tinto in the conservatory of our hotel, with a blurry view of the sea.
