We stayed 2 nights at the Luxor Hotel, one of the huge theme hotels in Las Vegas. The Sphinx and several obelisks were not to be missed here. We settled into our two huge rooms and strolled through our hotel. Actually, we didn't even need to go outside. Restaurants, bars, shops, a large casino, everything could be found in the hotel. However, we had a lot to see, so we visited the Michael Jackson One show by Cirque du Soleil in the adjacent Mandalay Bay hotel on the first evening. A story was told while people flew through the air, showing off their acrobatic tricks and playing or singing Michael Jackson songs. After that, we went to the casino. Eventually, we had to challenge our luck a bit. It started off well, but as they say, unlucky at cards, lucky in love ;-) The next day, we went up high and came down quickly. We were put in overalls and equipped with a safety harness system. Then, we took off in a small plane. We jumped out of the plane from almost 4,000 meters. 50 seconds of free fall, then the pilot opened the parachute and we glided gently back to the ground. An incredible experience. We were extremely nervous beforehand, but we would all do it again anytime. After that, we went to downtown Las Vegas. There are some older casinos here. In one of them, we could still discover the "old" slot machines. We tried our luck here once more and actually won some money. But the truly remarkable thing about the city is the hotels with their constantly open casinos on the Las Vegas Strip. Already in the evening, we strolled through the brightly lit streets, through various hotels, watched the water show at the Bellagio and the fire show at the Treasure, walked past the Eiffel Tower in New York, and crossed a few of the Venetian bridges. A special city that has emerged here in the middle of the Nevada desert.
