What a fantastic breakfast here in Tok! There are alternatives to bacon and eggs and even the otherwise highly cherished hot oatmeal with brown sugar & raisins I don't like anymore. So I order a huge pancake with blueberries. What a feast! And once again, we start talking to hunters at the neighboring table. They drove here overnight and now only have a few days left until the hunting season is over again. One of them shows me his permit for '1 bull moose' and '1 caribou'. The guys tell me that they only take the meat and that processing the animal on site is quite a hassle, because the meat weighs about 400 lbs (180 kg) without bones. The still warm meat (yuck!) is transported in cloth bags, as plastic bags don't make sense due to the body temperature and only in cloth can the meat cool down. Informed about this, I stand outside the restaurant and take a look at some of the trucks parked there. Some of them already have caribou antlers on them, I don't want to take a closer look at the boxes on the transport beds...
