Finally arrived in Australia!!!!
We are only now reporting from Australia after 10 days because in the NT = Northern Territory there are no people, no network, and very little civilization. Especially now at the end of the season and the beginning of the rainy season (lots of thunderstorms and rain - which we have been spared).
On our trip and the 4 months that lie ahead of us, we start with the first month (33 days) November 2017 on the north-west coast of Australia in Darwin.
An average of 40 degrees Celsius and really only a handful of people accompanied us there in the north for the first 6 days - through the Kakadu National Park & Edith Falls. That means pure nature experience without people, with gravel roads, 4x4 tracks of the finest ( ... you really have to be able to... ), solitude, no electricity, no running water, and countless unknown noises at night. But also simply beautiful!!!
The pictures only show a small part of what we have experienced and seen in terms of landscape.
There are crocodiles everywhere, with the 'Freshies' - freshwater crocodiles (2-4 meters) being more afraid of us (at least the locals say so). Worse are the 'Salties' - saltwater crocodiles (3-6 meters), which are very aggressive. Fortunately, we have not yet encountered the latter during our rock pool and creek swimming rounds.
Our 4x4 camper can go about 900 km (with a maximum of 1.2 meters water depth / fording depth) with the two 20 L jerry cans (necessary because there are sometimes 500-700km without a refueling stop); with 3 water tanks and about 70L of water plus many bottles of drinking water, we won't run out of water.
