Sado - Safehouse Clean up und Idol videoshoot

Publikováno: 15.06.2023

Today we are driving back to the peak station at Donden Mountain. Once we arrive there, we pack some food and cleaning utensils and hike back up the mountain to clean up and tidy the emergency shelter, where we also cleaned the lake last time. This time the weather is much better and we have a beautiful view and can see all the way to the other side of Sado. The shelter is not messy, but it is very dirty, as no one really cleans it regularly and a lot of dirt accumulates from the wind, animals, and peeling paint. Fortunately, due to the few pieces of furniture, it is easy to sweep the floor and tidy up the ground floor quickly. The upstairs is not particularly dirty, and after finding about 20 snake skins there, we decide to leave it as it is. When we finish, we sit in front of the shelter on the grass and have lunch with a stunning view. After we finish eating, we walk back to the peak station. There is a film shooting planned here for a small "advertisement" to encourage more people to vacation there. Two J-Pop idols from Niigata are also invited to appear in the video with us. So we all sit around the fire, try to have very awkward small talk, and pretend to toast with champagne. However, since one of them is not yet 20, there is only ginger ale in the glasses. We chat with them a bit, and every time we answer a question, they react like this: Me: I'm from Germany. Idols: EEEEHH?!?! After about 20 very strange minutes, we finally get to stand up again and pose for a photo, and Nozomi later tells us that usually you have to pay to take a photo with them. Without eating any of the food prepared by a famous chef from Sado, the two of them leave. So now we eat all the things that apparently are just for show on the grill and then drive back to Hamochi very full.
