Hello friends, it's the second day in Florence! The sun is shining and I'm on my way to Fiesole.🙈 I have to show off my little bit of Italian.☺️ So, a sunny morning wakes me up, delicious breakfast at this beautiful Hotel Croce di Malta, and off to the streets of Florence.
First, a little stroll, admire the shops, went to the market hall again (upstairs is the best toilet in Florence), and then to bus No. 7 at the train station, because it goes to Fiesole!
Yes, I changed my travel plan and exchanged Bologna for Fiesole—- the 40 km arcades in Bologna were definitely too much for me, I'll plan them for next year. So Fiesole, a charming little town above Florence, with a nice, quiet square and many hiking trails around it. I took one of them, the Sentieri Delle Cava cave path- lots of forest and silence and unfortunately closed caves. But sitting on the bench and enjoying the view is always possible.
Then, back in the square, a gentleman approached me asking if I belong to a tour group and if I'm looking for his bus, as he is the driver. No, I wasn't looking for the bus, but I had a great conversation with Andrea, that's what he's called, another one of those encounters that warm my heart. Thank you for that!
And then there are these views from up here. Sitting, looking, resting is the motto in Fiesole, truly a little place of longing.
In the afternoon, I put my feet up at the hotel and later went for another walk through the city. Street musicians everywhere, very! talented street painters, and so many people. For dinner, I had pizza in front of the lucky pig of Florence, and then put my feet up again—16756 steps are enough for a day.
Insight of the day: one must remain flexible, it's worth it!
Hello friends, see you in the morning 🙋♀️❤️
