Now, here's a photo of me so that you can still recognize me when I come back.
I'm really enjoying myself on board. Each day is different because there are always different opportunities. Either it's a port day, when I naturally visit a part of the city or region, or it's a sea day and even then there's always a varied program. Currently, there are interesting lectures again, focusing on Japan, such as the relationship between the West and Japan or Japanese culture and art. I've learned a lot of new things there. So, part of the day is already booked with that.
In addition, I'm now part of an international group of solo travelers that meets regularly. This group always comes together in different ways because new people join or leave. Every 8 days, a joint lunch is arranged at the captain's table (which is the largest round table), where I always like to go. That's why English has become my everyday language. I have also made friends in a closer circle with people from different countries (Sweden, Great Britain, Australia, and Canada), so the topics are very diverse and interesting.
In every part of the journey, for example from Sydney to Kobe, Japan, there are of course the formal evenings, which often have a theme, and the captain also invites all world travelers to a cocktail party once per segment. I always enjoy the beautiful decorations made of ice or icing on the buffet, which represent the last destinations. I was especially lucky that the last cocktail party took place on the evening of my birthday. That was of course a wonderful setting.
My daily 6 laps on Deck three (3 laps equal a mile) keep me fit, and at the same time, it's delightful to observe the sea with its colors and waves.
However, the most interesting thing about my journey is the experience of how beautiful our world is and how people live differently everywhere at the same time.
I send warm greetings to all of you and will inform you about further Japan experiences shortly.
