So, I just woke up and I'm going to recap yesterday. My cold doesn't seem to be improving (probably because of the lack of heaters), but I find it really relaxing and beautiful here.
We went to a small shop for breakfast yesterday, where we had Tamales, Chilaquiles with Pollo Pibil, and eggs with Mole sauce. It's a damn delicious breakfast, and I'm tempted to cook it at home. On the way back to the car, I saw the beautiful cardboard cutout of the police officer and couldn't help but laugh. 😁
Afterwards, we briefly checked out a record store (if my suitcase wasn't already so heavy, I would have bought half the store), and then we drove up into the mountains.
The Chipinque National Park is beautiful. Unfortunately, we underestimated the temperatures and froze our butts off 😂 I don't know what those weird raccoon-like animals are called, but they can be very annoying because they want your food (which I can understand, the food here is really delicious 😁). Since Monterrey is surrounded by mountains, you can go hiking or climbing in many places and have a good opportunity to recover from the city's smog (Monterrey is one of the dirtiest cities in the world, as they don't really have public transportation and everyone relies on their car).
Since we had almost no gas left, we drove down the mountain in neutral and ended up in a traffic jam as soon as we reached the bottom. Fortunately, we found a gas station early enough and didn't have to push the car. Afterwards, we tried to find a café that serves gluten-free pastries and ended up in a small French bistro.
After a "short" nap (3 hours 😂), we went out for Japanese food. The sushi was okay, but not as good as NANIWA. Nevertheless, me and the others enjoyed it.
Now I have to hurry down to breakfast, otherwise it will get cold. I wish you all a nice day ☺️
