Kilkenny - The birthplace of Smithwick Red Ales & the Rock of Cashel - 6 months in Ireland

Together with Waqas, we set off for Kilkenny on this day. Kilkenny is the birthplace of the well-known beer brand Smithwick, which sells a wonderful Red Ale that I have taken to heart.

Kilkenny, in the county of the same name, also impresses with its castle and its associated gardens. The time spent here with Waqas was important and a lot of fun.

He has become a true friend during my time in Ireland, I'm glad to have him here. Passing through umbrella-lined streets, we made our way to the old town and enjoyed a few beers here, while teenagers started the perfect end to this trip with live music right in front of us.

The Rock of Cashel is an ancient castle and church ruin in the eponymous town. It is located on the outskirts of the town and has a centuries-old history of sieges. Unfortunately, that was the only reason to come to Cashel, the rest of the town is boring in the middle of nowhere. I wish I had rented a car, then I could have seen more...
