What else is there to see between the last major "civilization center" Alta and the last point in Europe? A lot! Very much! A lot of nothing... Mongolian-looking hillsides covered with pasture and tundra, reindeer that must have found their heaven here, a lonely house every 20km, wind, occasional snowfields even in summer, bright nights and straight roads to the horizon. Oh yes... and mosquitoes - unimaginable in number, species diversity and audacity. Hardly a visitor to Scandinavia who could not claim that these additional proteins came into their meal while eating. On the last sections before the North Cape it becomes hilly again and the drive along the coast draws more parallels to Norway than to Lapland.
Special feature 1: The North Cape itself is located on an island that is not reached by ferry or bridge, but by a tunnel that runs up to 200m below sea level and is almost seven kilometers long.
Special feature 2: The wind speed in this region can unexpectedly become very high, which is why you should pay attention to the wind direction when opening the car doors, if you want to avoid your mobile phone in the side door being thrown out onto the road and breaking. Anne knows that now...
