After Tuscany, we decided to leave Italy and head to France. With the motorhome, we only drive a maximum of 95 km/h, and we can't subject Per to a whole day on the motorway.
We will no longer head to Spain either. We prefer to stay a few days longer instead of just covering distance. The distance to the French Atlantic coast is still far enough.
So we headed to Saint Tropez in two day stages. The Bartels family recommended a campsite here, which was really great. It is right by the sea, and it is about 100 meters from our camper to the sea.
So we spent the last three days (May 30th to June 2nd) bathing in the Gulf of Saint Tropez, cycling, or marveling at the largest sailing yacht in the world, which is currently anchored here.
The first evening, while Per was sleeping, we had a drink and played Rummikub.
Per finds grass quite suspicious, and he has not left the blanket so far. The first time he also found the beach a bit strange and, like on the grass, stood on one leg and held on to us. Today, he definitely likes the sand much better, and he really enjoys bathing in the sea.
He always cackles when splashing and gets scared when he tastes the saltwater.
By chance, we stood right next to two families from Germany who are also enjoying their parental leave in a camper. One evening, we all had a barbecue together and exchanged stories.
The last day was a bit mixed. Per was really in a bad mood. But everyone has such days every now and then, even very young people.
He has discovered pretty high tones that he likes to play now, to our suffering and that of all our neighbors here.
