I am a lucky person with my host family. Not only do I get served even better wine on every occasion, but there are also lots of different cheeses that are served as either appetizers or desserts, or both. I thought it was impossible, but one cheese (in a jar) almost knocked me off my chair, it was as strong as a shot, I had to give up.
On National Day, we go to Quentin's parents' property: They grow pome fruits there but now, as they retire, they are gradually switching to wine: Quentin's big dream - a winery. I am assigned to weed the young vines, they should grow without chemicals so that the first wine can be sold in about three years.
His parents' house was built in 1664. Just do a quick calculation, yes it is really old. The typical Provençal stone house is quite solid and keeps the heat out. But I can't keep us waiting forever with the Kaiserschmarrn, it's getting serious and we're going on a trip to Mirmande and Crest. Highly recommended if you're ever in the area ;).
Already slightly tipsy, we continue, these two sure have stamina. The only good thing about the dry heat is that the sweat evaporates immediately - no joke.
And to add to my list of clichés: - The French never miss an opportunity to enjoy a glass of wine. - Really everyone has a baguette in their pocket. 🥖
