This morning, after a fairly meager breakfast (black bread + ajvar from the supermarket), I got on the saddle. Like the days before, I spent a lot of time on a dam right next to the Danube. Great for switching off your head! After about 50 km, during a short snack break, I met a group of French people over 70 who were on their way to Budapest on ebikes. They were very enthusiastic about my tour. After another 10 km, I was caught up by George, who had apparently been trying to catch up with me since the break with the French. He is a lawyer from Bratislava and is currently training for the Way of St. James, which he wants to cycle in June. I then had lunch with Georg in Komárno. Then we parted ways because he had to take the train back to Bratislava.
I continued about 50km to Štúrovo. Here I found a campsite next to a SPA resort. As soon as I arrived, my Czech camping neighbour invited me for a can of beer. The conversation was a bit difficult due to his lack of English, but his girlfriend (? I'm not entirely sure) was able to help a bit. Afterwards I went to the sauna in the SPA resort and later went to the Danube to see the basilica and then had something to eat!
Tomorrow we will continue to Hungary, to the capital Budapest.
