Hostel in Auckland

Today is the day, finally we can pick up our car! Take the train to Parakura Station and get picked up by the van seller from there - everything seems perfect, but it didn't go quite as smoothly. We thought, as always before, we could pay with a credit card. So we try many options to pay for and pick up our car today, but it turns out to be not that easy. With an uncertain feeling, we get on the train, so we can't really be excited about it, even though this was actually one of the most anticipated moments. Arriving at the train station, the seller picks us up and we see our Zuhlo (we'll tell you the meaning of the name later) for the first time at his workshop. Our facial expression changes directly to a smile. Fortunately, the seller turns out to be very understanding and makes it possible for us to take the car directly. But the crucial question remained: Who gets to drive our Zuhlo first? Back to the name Zuhlo, because you're probably already wondering where it came from. During the payment process, there was a list in the seller's office where each letter was assigned a word. When the three of us were standing next to our van, the question of the name came up, as this car will accompany us from now on. At the same time, we looked at the list and noticed that independently of each other, the letter Z and the corresponding word Zuhlo caught our attention in particular. So the name was set.

And who gets to drive Zuhlo now? To decide this, we agreed on a game of rock-paper-scissors. Nicola Stone. Eileen and Arnd Scissors. The decision has been made.

And now everything was good, while driving in a super cool van, with sun and music, we were probably the happiest people on the whole island :D

Now there are still some things to do, like the interior design of the van, registration, car insurance, setting up a bank account, and so on. Man, that was exhausting! Fun fact: the best purchase of the day were our hard plastic wine glasses. Cheers! 🍾

To celebrate the day, they were inaugurated in the hostel room in the evening. 🤓😂
