Today we took a day trip to the neighboring island of Morro de Sao Paulo. We started early in the morning with a shuttle service to the port of Salvador. From there, we boarded a boat that took us to Ilha de Itaparica.

From there, we traveled by bus for some time until Bom Jardim.

From there, a boat took us to Morro de Sao Paulo in pouring rain. When we arrived, the sun came out and stayed radiant on the horizon all day. First, we walked through a long narrow street with many houses and shops on both sides.

Here, everything is still transported by horses or small machines because there is no other way on the island. In addition, the island is divided into several beach areas, all of which are beautiful and relaxing. You felt like you were in the Caribbean, even though you were only a few hours away from Salvador. But let the pictures speak for themselves!

In the afternoon, the whole trip went back to Salvador.

Afterwards, we went straight to Fogo de Chão. The ultimate barbecue restaurant in Brazil, which is to be expected with the price. However, it is definitely worth it!

P.S.: But you can also get to Morro de Sao Paulo by catamaran or plane with a little more money, without having to travel long distances by bus. However, it is recommended to stay there for a few days to be able to relax. In this sense: I will be back!
