My dears, normally most people would talk about how to best prepare and what to take with them, but I still have exactly 24 hours until I take the train to Frankfurt Airport and see my chaos laid out before me.
Everything packed yet? OF COURSE not.
Everything stored away that is no longer needed? OF COURSE not.
I would rather set up this blog so that you can share a little bit of my journey. Maybe experience some of the chaotic, as well as the beautiful and difficult situations.
Time check?! Oh no, I have to start packing the rest and decide what I still need and what I can do without.
10 hours before I take the train!
Everything is packed so far, just without a proper packing list. Nothing checked off, just based on a feeling. I think I have too much with me, but I'm going to Canada and it's not in the middle of summer. It will be cold, so the fear of freezing comes up. Why worry though? Canada is supposed to have great second-hand shops. Experience will show.
The evening is slowly coming to an end. The last night in my bed, in the house where I was so lovingly taken in. It's quiet, only my music and the thoughts I'm writing here are playing in the background.
55 minutes before the flight!
The flight is getting closer and I'm glad to have already gone through all the checks. It took a bit of time. Frankfurt Airport is simply huge and you can also get a little lost or stand in the wrong line.
I planned for 3 hours luckily and was done after 1.5 hours.
You notice everything, frantic people who hardly have any time left, stressed staff, and then there's your own little nervousness whether you have all the documents with you to be allowed to enter Canada.
I'm still sitting relaxed in a lounger and slowly have to make my way to my gate, as I went completely in the opposite direction because I wanted to enjoy the peace, away from the crowd.
49 minutes until the flight... going to the gate now....
25 minutes until departure!
Phew, they changed the gate and sent me back from Gate 48 to Gate 23, where I was resting before. After it didn't look like it and another airline was displayed, I asked and they sent me back. This time I took my legs in my arms and ran.
Normally they close the gate 20 minutes before departure.
While running back, I noticed at Gate 43 that the same airline 'Condor' flies to Toronto. Everything matched up and then I saw 'It's my flight'.
I think we will be departing late as it looks. Boarding hasn't started yet and it's now 2:50pm.
