Mekong Delta (guided tour)

We booked a 2-day/1-night tour to the Mekong Delta through Tripadvisor (From Ho Chi Minh: Mekong Delta & Cai Rang Market - 2-Day Tour | GetYourGuide). The price was €90 per person.

Short conclusion - it wasn't really worth it! Everything went smoothly on the tour; it was well organized and an easy way to get to the Mekong Delta. For people who enjoy such tours, it might even be fun, but we'd rather do our own thing and it was really quite unauthentic and sometimes odd. The Floating Market consisted of just a few boats - not really worth seeing, especially considering the long journey from Ho Chi Minh. The visits to the 'local villages' are just a show; unfortunately, you often experience this on such tours.

Personally, I wouldn't visit the Mekong Delta independently from such a tour either - it's not really exciting there.

I think there are more beautiful regions, such as Con Dao or Phu Quoc or Sapa (we didn't manage to visit all of those).
